Postal Stamp Trident is put into circulation on 21 January
2022. Its issuance is dedicated to the holiday - the Day of Unity of Ukraine.
The Day of Unity -
Ukrainian holiday celebrated on the occasion of the unification of the Ukrainian
People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic in 1919.
The coat of arms of the Ukrainian state - a trident - is
depicted on the postage stamp. In
addition to the trident, the stamp contains the colours of the Ukrainian state
flag and the inscription "Ukraine" in large letters
This is not the first stamp with the image of the Ukrainian
coat of arms on it, however, this particular variant is quite interesting.
Ukrposhta artist Oksana Shuklinova worked on the stamp
design. It is based on the trident of
Kyiv Prince Volodymyr the Great. This is the form of the coat of arms used on
coins and was seen on state seals from the times of the Kyiv Principality. In a skilful artistic design the Trident postage
stamp looks very sophisticated and modern.
Despite the large print run, the postage stamp was almost immediately
sold out by Ukrainian philatelists. You
can buy this postage stamp in our shop as well.
Before the stamp was put into circulation, a special envelope and postage stamp were designed.
