Stamps of Ukraine are dedicated to the Ukrainian Cossacks
In its issues, Ukrposhta pays great attention to stamps dedicated to the liberation struggle for Ukrainian statehood. The Cossack-Hetman movement played a major role in this struggle. It was during the active development of the Cossacks that the first foundations of the independent Ukrainian state were laid. Cossacks became the founders of free settlements with their own organization and rules of living. During the entire period of its existence, the Cossacks fought for their freedom and independence.
The first Ukrainian stamp issued by Ukraine after independence in 1991 was a stamp dedicated to 500 items of the Ukrainian Cossacks. After that, Ukrposhta began regularly issuing stamps dedicated to Cossacks, hetmans and symbols of the Cossack era.
