The holiday stamp is dedicated to the 11th World Scout Meeting held in Greece in 1963. Scouts from 89 countries of the world took part in the meeting. The number of meeting participants exceeded 10,000 representatives of the scout movement.
Brief information about Plast
Ukraine was represented by representatives of Plast, a youth organization founded in 1911. In "Plast" at that time, young people were taught to shoot a rifle and a revolver, to make long military marches with shoulder pads, to signal, to make bandages, etc.
The emblem of Plast is a Ukrainian trident and a white three-leafed lily, a symbol of the scout movement, woven into one harmonious whole. This coat of arms became a symbol of the ideological unity of the entire stratum movement.
During the activity of the organization, the plastuns actively supported the idea of the independence of the Ukrainian state.
Many of the leaders and active members of the OUN and UPA were brought up by "Plast", in particular the leader of the OUN (b) Stepan Bandera, Colonel-General of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army Roman Shukhevych.
After the last war, a large number of Ukrainians remained outside the borders of Ukraine. Plast circles are organized in many localities with the Main Plast Elder and the Council in Munich. Plast operates in the countries of North and South America, Australia, England, Austria, France, Germany.
