Sheet of stamps "City of Heroes.Mykolaiv
The sheet of stamps "Cities of Heroes. Mykolaiv" is a visual poem about indomitability and heroism that pulsates in every stroke. The stamps depict the majestic, albeit wounded, building of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, which, like a silent witness, stands guard over the history of the city. Its charred walls and broken windows remind of the moment when a Russian missile broke the peace, but failed to break the spirit of its inhabitants.
On the edges of the sheet, like silent guards, there are symbols of Mykolaiv - the figure of St. Nicholas, whom the city residents honor as their guardian angel, calling for his protection and blessings in these difficult times. His figure, refined and restrained, seems to be watching the events, keeping in his heart faith in the victory of good over evil.
Another scene emerges from the margins of the sheet: protective barricades made of tires that have blossomed like black poppies on the road to freedom. They remind of that desperate night when the city did not sleep, when every inhabitant, like a drop in the ocean, joined together to protect their native home.
Each stamp on this sheet is a piece of a large mosaic of indomitability, stubborn will to life and freedom. It pulsates with the energy of hope, sadness, but also pride for the heroic city of ships, which, like a ship in a storm, firmly holds its course despite the storms of war.
The circulation of the new stamp is 1,080,000 copies, and its face value corresponds to the U tariff (15 UAH). The design of the "First Day" stamp, envelope and stamp was created by Volodymyr Taran, using photos of Olena Narayvska, Dmytro Skorokhodov and Yevgeny Zagorodny. Special redemption with stamps will take place in Kyiv and Mykolaiv.
