"I'm Fine" Postage Stamp
Through the collaboration of the Ukrainian Witness media project and Ukrposhta, the impactful installation "I'm Fine" has found new life as a postage stamp, embodying deep meanings and messages for a global audience.
The stamp design, developed by Ukrainian Witness, reflects the spirit and resilience of the Ukrainian people in the face of adversity. The stamp has a circulation of 500,000 copies, with a denomination of F, corresponding to the postage rate for registered domestic letters weighing up to 50 grams. Each stamp sheet contains 4 stamps.
Installation Origins
The "I'm Fine" installation, conceptualized and coordinated by Vitaliy Deynega, was created by Ukrainian Witness in collaboration with artist Oleksii Sai. It first debuted at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada's desert, where its tragic yet powerful presence captivated global attention.
The installation was crafted from real war artifacts collected from de-occupied territories: bullet-riddled street signs, solar panels, satellite dishes, shattered city name signs, and broken fences. Each element tells a story of destruction and survival, showcasing the consequences of military aggression while emphasizing the unyielding spirit of Ukrainians fighting for freedom and peace.
Standing at 32 meters tall, weighing 10 tons, and composed entirely of fragments from war-torn areas, the installation serves as a testament to resilience. From damaged road signs to remnants of destroyed buildings, every piece narrates a unique tale of survival.
Its debut at Burning Man 2024 amidst the festival's vibrant and extravagant art scene made a profound impact. In the midst of the Nevada desert, this Ukrainian sculpture stood as a beacon of strength and tragedy, reminding the world that art can amplify the voices of those enduring unimaginable challenges.
