Postage stamp "FCK PTN!"
The resilience and
confidence of the Ukrainian people has impressed the world and the enemy, who
has violated the borders and brazenly invaded the land of an independent
country. A full year has passed since the start of the large-scale invasion by
the Russian army. To this day, Ukrainians have been resisting and fighting
barbarians, invaders and simply terrorists.
The success of the
Ukrainians and the Armed Forces is confirmed by the liberation of the occupied
territories of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. Not only the army, but also
the conscious Ukrainian public is working for victory. Among them, Ukrposhta
has taken an active position, and since the beginning of the large-scale
invasion, it has been actively promoting pro-Ukrainian propaganda by reflecting
the situation on the pages of philately.
What is known about the artist and the postage
stamp FCK PTN
Ukrposhta accepts
proposals from various artists and designers for the design of all stamps. Many
of the stamps are issued with the public's opinion in mind. The country's main
post office is active on social media, where it communicates with ordinary
citizens.
The new stamp
features a sketch by the controversial English underground artist Banksy, who
depicted a graffiti with a judoka on the wall of a building destroyed by the
Russians on Tsentralna Street in the Ukrainian village of Borodyanka. In total,
the artist created 7 different graffiti on buildings damaged by military
operations during a secret visit to Ukraine in autumn 2022.

hostilities in Ukraine. For the first time, it became known about his
charitable contribution in March 2022, when Banksy's CND Soldiers, unsigned, was
put up for sale at a charity auction in London. All the proceeds (£81,000)
under the hashtag #ABANKSY4UKRAINE were donated to support the NDSL Okhmatdyt Children's
Hospital in Kyiv.

Postal issues during the period of
martial law in the country
At the beginning of
the Russian army's invasion, many businesses suspended their operations and
were in a stupor. But consciousness allowed them to pull themselves together
and reject panic. The strength of the Ukrainian people is confirmed by the many
years of struggle for their independence. That is why many businesses have
reformatted and started working for the Ukrainian victory.
Ukrposhta is no
exception and has also joined the fight against Russian aggression. In the
spring of 2022, the appropriate decision was to suspend the stamp issues
planned by the Thematic Plan and start developing philatelic products that
reflect the current state of the situation. Thus, the first stamp to be issued
during martial law was "Russian warship, go...!". It had a rather
powerful message in terms of information about the position towards the
occupiers. The stamp caused not only a stir, but also greatly encouraged
Ukrainians and the Armed Forces. The Ukrainian army's actions resulted in the
sinking of the Russian navy's flagship in the Black Sea.
After that,
Ukrposhta continued with thematic issues, which were equally successful.
Currently, Ukrainians continue their fight against the aggressor country, and
24 February will be the anniversary of the confrontation. On this occasion, the
issue was presented, which, like the first stamp, indicates the direction for
the invaders, who will have to answer to a special tribunal.
What is depicted on the stamp
The stamp has a
horizontal orientation, with the identification inscriptions for Ukrainian
postal services spaced along the edges of the stamp. The left side of the stamp
in the upper left corner bears the inscription "Ukraine" in two
languages. Below that is the stamp's face value with an additional value, which
indicates the charitable purpose of the issue. The lower left corner of the
stamp bears the name "PTN PNH!". The upper right corner contains the
year of issue and the Ukrainian coat of arms. The right edge of the stamp bears
the signature of the artist ©BANKSY.
The sketch is
depicted on a cracked wall of a house. Only two characters are depicted - a
little boy and an adult man. The picture is reproduced in motion, with the
little fighter knocking out the big judoka. One can assume that the sketch
illustrates a smaller Ukraine, which is fighting back with dignity against a
country three times its size. However, everyone can recreate for themselves an
associative series of thoughts about the graffiti artist's painting. The point
remains the same: the larger opponent does not always win.
