"Peredova" poster - Photo by Ukrposhta
The "Front line" postage stamp was
circulated on the 27th of May, 2020. The stamp features a symbolic image
consisting of two parts combined into one assembled image. On the one hand a
fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the other hand, a medic.
The stamp very clearly reflects the state of society
in these difficult times for Ukraine.
In addition to the war that has been going on since
2014, a new disaster has come to the homes of Ukrainians - Covid-19.
The postage stamp is called "Front line".
The vanguard is the line beyond which order ends and chaos, disorder, and
decline begins.
A poster by Kharkiv artist-illustrator Nikita Titov
was used for the sketch of the "Front line" postage stamp. He created
his poster under the influence of the quarantine caused by the coronavirus
pandemic.
With his work, the artist wanted to show the
importance of the role of medical workers and military personnel for the state
and every Ukrainian in particular.
Ukrainian Post Office employees noticed the work of
the artist, and they offered to create a postage stamp from the poster.
The "Front line" postage stamp is
dedicated to thousands of medics and soldiers, as well as representatives of
other professions - firefighters, drivers, sellers, teachers, and many others- for their contribution
to the development and protection of the Ukrainian state.
With the full-scale invasion of Russian troops on
the 24th of February 2022, the postage stamp acquired an even greater depth of
meaning.
The postage stamp is very popular among Ukrainian collectors and has recently become rarer.
