Minute of silence postage stamp
The postage stamp "A Minute of Silence" is dedicated to all the people who have perished as a result of the devastating war that Russia started in February 2022. Countless Ukrainians and people of other nationalities have lost their lives due to the relentless bombings and shellings of peaceful cities across our nation. A minute of silence is the least we can offer to honor the fallen soldiers, the prisoners tortured in Moscow's prisons, and the civilians who perished under the horrific rubble.
On Ukraine's Independence Day, August 24, 2024, we reflect on the immense cost of our nation's independence and freedom.
On August 23, Ukrposhta is presenting a new postage stamp, "A Minute of Silence." The stamp has a denomination of "U" with an additional 5 UAH, which will be donated to charity. The issue format is a small sheet, with five stamps and a coupon. The stamps depict a symbolic burial of those who died in the war, draped in Ukrainian flags, along with two solitary figures mourning their lost loved ones. The stamp was released in a print run of 500,000 copies, and a special postmark and envelope were designed to accompany it.
