Salt of the Earth . To the Day of Infantry. Postage Stamp

The postcard from the series “To the Day of Infantry. Salt of the Earth” is not just a philatelic issue. It is an homage, it is gratitude, it is a visual prayer in honor of the soldiers who are the first to enter battle and hold the defense on the front line. They are called infantry. They are called the salt of the earth.

In the center of each stamp is an eloquent artistic symbol: a blood-black double-headed eagle, embodying the enemy, trampled by a military boot - a symbol of strength, determination and inevitable retribution. In the background are the figures of infantrymen, who, like shadows of invincibility, walk despite the darkness and ruin. Their faces are not visible, but each of them is an image of countless heroes, those who defend the Ukrainian land.

Artist Andriy Yermolenko created an emotionally rich, powerful composition. On the left side of the sheet are silhouettes of infantrymen walking through rocks and clouds, and above them is a symbolic golden emblem with a trident. Everything speaks of firmness, dignity, and faith.

The stamp format is 36.54×50.46 mm, the sheet is 163×118 mm. Each sheet contains six signs of postal honor. The denomination is U (corresponds to the sending of a simple letter up to 50 g across Ukraine) plus an additional 8 hryvnias, which are directed to charity: for the reconstruction of the faces of Ukrainian defenders who suffered from mine and explosive injuries.

The stamp’s circulation is 150,000 copies. In addition, 20,000 First Day envelopes, 20,000 cards, and 500 booklets were created. It was printed using offset printing at the facilities of the Ukraina enterprise.
