Transcarpathian Ukraine is a state entity founded in November 1944 on the territory of Transcarpathia with the assistance of the Soviet military administration after the expulsion of the German and Hungarian occupation forces. At first it formally existed as part of the Czechoslovak Republic, later it became part of Soviet Ukraine.

The total circulation of the series of stamps was 1,318,800 copies. Stamps of this series have various color shades. For example, the 40-denomination stamp can be found in colors from pale green to rich dark green. The situation is similar for brands of other denominations. Throughout this series, many typographical errors, omissions and perforation shifts have been noted. In the August issue of stamps, in addition to the face value, the year of issue is also indicated.

On November 15, 1945, in accordance with the treaty between the USSR and Czechoslovakia, Transcarpathian Ukraine became part of the Ukrainian SSR, and the Soviet post office began operating on its territory.

The estimated value of this series in international catalogs is 120 EUR.
