Crimean embroidery postage stamp "Nation code series"
What is shown on the stamp
The "Crimean Tatar embroidery" postage stamp presents an elegant embroidery that reflects the rich traditional culture of the Crimean people. The central element is a mid-19th century women's headscarf "scarf", embroidered in the Qasnaq vestibule embroidery technique (Crimean Tatar "k'asnak"). The use of metallized (golden) and silk threads on the home-spun canvas gives the brand a special shine and sophistication.
Ornaments and color combinations on the stamp correspond to the principles of the national decorative and applied art of the Crimean Tatar people, which has been preserved since ancient times. On the margins of the marked sheet is the text "Crimean Tatar embroidery - the code of the people. Autonomous Republic of Crimea", which emphasizes the importance of this cultural heritage for the region.
The stamp was issued in a circulation of 800,000 copies, which indicates a great interest in the cultural heritage of the Crimean Tatar people. The issue was made with the support of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and the Public Organization "El Cheber".

Crimean Tatar embroidery reflects the rich history and culture of the people who created this artistic genre. Its symbols and ornamentation not only decorate fabrics, but also carry the legacy of past eras, tell about the customs, faith, and history of Crimea and the Crimean Tatar people. Such embroidery becomes not only an object of beauty, but also a connection with the past, supporting the identity and heritage of generations. This is an impressive example of how art can be not only aesthetic, but also a way of preserving cultural heritage.
