Kharkiv embroidered postage stamp "Nation code series" What is shown on the stamp
The series of postage stamps "Ukrainian embroidery - code of the nation" started in 2018 continues with the participation of the Kharkiv region. The new brand presents an elegant women's shirt of the 13th century, which is the embodiment of the traditional embroidery of this region. The art of embroidery on the sleeves of the shirt, which depicts roosters, symbolizing the sun, light and the awakening of life, deserves special attention.
The design of the stamp was created by Oksana Shuklinova, who successfully conveyed the beauty and richness of the traditional embroidery art of the Kharkiv region. The circulation of the stamp is 800,000 copies, which indicates a great interest in the cultural heritage of the region. The stamp has a denomination of F, which corresponds to the tariff for forwarding domestic simple letters without a declared value weighing up to 50 grams and postcards.
Each sheet contains 8 stamps and 1 coupon. This initiative is aimed at reproducing and popularizing the national embroidery art, as well as emphasizing its importance as an important element of the cultural heritage of Ukraine.
A corresponding stamp and envelope of the first day have been developed for the stamp.

In Ukraine, each region has its own unique embroidery, which reflects the richness of culture and traditions of the people. But the embroidery of the Kharkiv region is a real source of impressions and discoveries for those who study Ukrainian national art.
Before delving into the details, it is important to note that vyshyvanka is not just clothing, but a symbol of Ukrainian identity and national pride. It is not only a thing in the wardrobe, but also the embodiment of national culture, the transfer of heritage to previous generations.
The Kharkiv region is noted for its unique embroidery, which is distinguished by special motifs and patterns of embroidery. It intertwines traditional Ukrainian ornaments with shades characteristic of this region. Plant and geometric motifs are often used, symbolizing nature and harmony.
One of the distinctive features of Kharkiv embroidery is the use of bright colors that attract attention and add energy. Red, blue, yellow - these are just a few of the palette, which makes each embroidery unique and expressive.
In addition, in the embroidery of the Kharkiv region, you can see the reflection of the cultural influences of other peoples, which intersected with the Ukrainian one. This is reflected in the patterns and placement of ornaments, which makes this embroidery even more interesting and multi-layered.
Thus, Kharkiv region embroidery is not just a line on a fabric, but a reflection of a rich cultural heritage and national identity. Each embroidery from this region is a unique masterpiece that tells its own story and opens the door to the world of Ukrainian art.
