Monument A legendary wheelbarrow
Stamp of the Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments.
The stamp is red-orange and black.
The stamp depicts the monument "Legendary Tachanka"
The legendary tachanka is a monument in the city of Kakhovka, Kherson region, depicting a tachanka that was widely used in the Ukrainian steppes during the Soviet-Ukrainian war and the civil war in Russia, in particular, in cavalry units. of the Red Army. The monument was erected in honor of the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution, dedicated to the battles at the Kakhov bridgehead in 1920.
It was from the Kherson and Mykolaiv steppes that the offensive operation of the Red Army was launched, aimed at the Crimea, which was then a bastion of the White Guard troops.
The monument was built on an artificial mound 10 m high, 85 m long and 75 m wide. The mound is covered with turf.
The height of the monument is 8 m, the length is 18 m, the width is 9 m. The total weight is 120 tons, including 78 tons of bronze (sculptural part), supporting steel structures and cast iron plates — 42 tons. Under the sculpture is a base of granite blocks.
The monument is a reminder of the communist government, and in accordance with the law on "Decommunization" it must be dismantled. However, since the monument is very bulky, no final decision has been made on it. The special commission received various proposals regarding his future fate. One of them is to create a museum of Totalitarianism at the monument's place, where dismantled communist monuments from the southern region of Ukraine will be taken.
