Description of the artistic plot of the postal block
The artist Mykola Kochubei achieved an incredible feat - he managed to fit the monumentality of Tovtry into the elegant framework of the postal block, creating a holistic, lively and harmonious artistic canvas. Looking at this issue, you do not just see a set of stamps, you immerse yourself in the very essence of the Podolsk forest, hear the rustle of grass and feel the breath of wind from the Bakotskaya Bay.
The composition of the block is built on the principle of panoramic painting. The backdrop for the entire issue is the majestic Podolsk landscape. A deep blue canyon opens before us, where the calm waters of the Dniester embrace the green slopes of the Tovtry hills. The space breathes with volume and light, creating a feeling of boundless flight. Against this picturesque background, like actors on the stage of a natural theater, the main characters of the issue appear - rare representatives of flora and fauna listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
In the left part of the block, proudly standing out in the foreground, sits a majestic eagle owl (Bubo bubo). Its penetrating, wise gaze of large orange eyes attracts the viewer's attention. Each feather of the bird is drawn with extraordinary love and precision - from soft gray-brown shades to characteristic feather "ears". The eagle owl personifies the night wisdom and mystery of the Podolsk forests, acting as a formidable and at the same time fragile guardian of these lands.
Nearby, on the neighboring stamp, the great pasque flower (Pulsatilla grandis) blooms - one of the most beautiful harbingers of spring. Thin, fluffy stems hold large purple-lilac bells with bright yellow cores, reaching for the first spring sun. The artist even managed to convey the silky texture of the hairs on the petals, which protect the flower from night frosts. This image gives a feeling of rebirth, purity and invincibility of life.
In the lower right part of the block, warming up on a limestone stone, a green lizard (Lacerta viridis) lurks. Its emerald scales literally burn with life, sparkling in the sunlight with various shades of light green and turquoise. The dynamic pose of the lizard, ready to disappear into the grass at any moment, adds movement and realism to the composition.
The color scheme of the entire block is built on deep, natural tones: the rich green of the forests, the warm golden-gray color of the rocks, the sky-blue of the water and bright accents of wildlife. The subtle use of foiling gives the stamps a special noble shine, emphasizing that we have before us a true treasure of national philately.
